A few years back, I created a series of toys out of laminated birch ply. The goal was to not only make great toys, but also develop characters that all used an identical template/footprint.
Once a shape had been developed. The next step was figuring out the toys function. There's nothing wrong with having a toy simply sit on a shelf, but I wanted these to do that little bit more. When looking at my own toy collection, the clear insight was that they are treated the same as money. You work hard so that you can get more, you're proud of whatever you have, you always want more, and you always make sure it's kept safe.
The eight characters below make up the third series of Munneeboxes. Timber toys that you feed with cash and simply pop open whenever you need to retrieve it.
A variation of the original shape, with a mouth slot as well as an opening up top.
